Ground Transportation Changes

Construction is underway to consolidate pickup locations for all ground transportation providers to one place at Tucson International Airport. When completed in early February, taxis, app rides, shuttles, car services, buses and Sun Tran will pick up passengers on the commercial roadways directly in front of the main airport terminal.

All ground transportation will continue to pick up in their same general areas during construction but their exact time may be moved temporarily.

  • Taxis, car services, charter buses and parking, hotel and other shuttles will continue to meet passengers on the commercial roadways directly in front of the terminal. Passengers should exit baggage claim and cross the first roadway to the second and third roadways. (When you reach the roadway, please look both to your right and left as some services may temporarily move from one side to the other.)
  • App rides (Lyft and Uber) will continue to meet passengers at the Rental Car Center outside the east exit of the terminal during construction. (Follow the signs for App Rides.)
  • Sun Tran, the region’s public transit system, will continue to stop outside second (ticketing) level west exit from the terminal during construction.

The plan is for construction to be paused from Thanksgiving through the holidays.

The photos below show the changes being made.

Before Construction

This shows the locations for ground transportation pick-ups before construction. During construction some providers may move but all of the existing providers will remain in their general locations. NOTE: Through January Lyft and Uber will continue to meet passengers near the Rental Car Center outside the east exit from the terminal and Sun Tran’s stop will remain outside the ticketing level west exit from the terminal. Construction is paused from Thanksgiving week through the holidays and is expected to be completed in early February.

New Locations in early February

When completed in early February, passengers will be able to meet all ground transportation directly in front of the terminal when Lyft, Uber, Sun Tran join that taxis, car services and parking, hotel and other shuttles.
