Tucson International Airport Tucson Airport Authority Ryan Airfield

Ryan Airfield (RYN), about 14 road miles southwest of Tucson at Ajo Highway (State Route 86) and West Valencia Road, is a general aviation reliever airport for Tucson International Airport (TUS). It is the only Southern Arizona airport with an air traffic control tower staffed under the Federal Aviation Administration’s Contract Tower Program.

Construction on Ajo Highway is finished and the main entrance to Ryan Airfield on Aviator Drive has reopened. Be aware that as part of the road realignment, eastbound traffic leaving the airport must use the traffic light at Airfield Drive (Valencia Road) to turn left. Work is now underway to widen Valencia Road between Wade Road and Ajo Highway. Pima County expects to complete the work in summer 2020.
