John Wayne Airport (SNA) serves the Orange County and Greater Los Angeles area in California. The airport is known as the gateway to Southern California and the nearest airport to Laguna Beach. SNA is located 7 miles away from the City of Santa Ana and 30 minutes’ trip from Los Angeles.

SNA is considered as the second busiest airport in the area, behind Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), when considering total passenger traffic. The airport connects 34 cities and municipalities, reaching 3 million people. As a result, the total number of passengers served by SNA Airport in 2019 was roughly 10.7 million.

In 2022 and 2023, J.D. Power North American Airport Satisfaction Study ranked SNA #2 for overall customer satisfaction among large airports.

Airport Fun Fact: Many travelers and airline websites refer to SNA as Orange County Airport or Santa Ana Airport. SNA is owned and operated by the County of Orange and located in Santa Ana city. At the end of the 1970s, the airport—originally named Orange County Airport—was renamed in honor of actor John Wayne, who used to reside close to the county.
