Tucson Airport Authority President and CEO Joins 162nd Air Guardians Board of Directors

The Tucson Airport Authority (TAA) is proud to announce President and CEO Danette Bewley is the newest member of the 162nd Air Guardians Board of Directors. As a loyal, lifelong supporter of the United States Armed Forces, she found the perfect match for supporting a local military installation.

“As neighbors on the airfield, there is already such a strong partnership between the TAA and Morris Air National Guard Base,” said Bewley. “We have worked so well together on meaningful projects, but this appointment to the Board is about more than maintaining a working relationship. I am supporter and advocate of the 162nd Wing as a member of our Southern Arizona community.”

In December 2021, Bewley’s dedication to the Arizona Air National Guard (AANG) 162nd Wing reached new heights when Brig. Gen. Jeffrey L. Butler flew her over the greater Tucson area in an F-16. A pilot herself, Bewley is the daughter of a decorated naval fighter pilot. She understands the resolve and sacrifice required to serve our country.

“I think back to the love and support I received from my parents and all the kindness that was shared with us as a military family,” said Bewley. “Joining the Board of Directors is a wonderful way for me to pay forward that hospitality and appreciation.”

Along with her service to the 162nd Air Guardians, Bewley is also a Board Member for Airports Council International – North America, Southern Arizona Leadership Council (SALC), Tucson Metro Chamber, Southern Arizona Defense Alliance, DM50, and is a member of the Sun Corridor Inc. Chairman’s Circle.

The 162nd Air Guardians look forward to commemorating the 75th birthday of the Air Force and Air National Guard this fall. Information about the 501(c)3 can be found here.
