Via Air Announces Tucson Flights Nonstop to Austin Starting January 18

Via Air, a Florida-based airline, announced Wednesday (November 15) it will be coming Tucson International Airport with nonstop flights to Austin, Texas beginning January 18.

The new flight to Austin is scheduled for 2 hours and 5 minutes, reducing the flight-time by about half of the current shortest connecting flight schedule of 4 hours and 3 minutes.

Service to Austin will operate Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays aboard 50-seat Embraer ERJ-145 jets. Via Air’s planned schedule:

Depart Tucson (TUS) 1:05 p.m. Arrive Austin (AUS) 4:10 p.m.
Depart Austin (AUS) 10:50 a.m. Arrive Tucson (TUS) 12:20 p.m.

Passengers can book Via Air flights at or through other booking sources.

This announcement increases the number of airlines service Tucson International Airport to seven, serving 19 nonstop destinations.

Via Air plans to base crews and maintenance at the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, positioning its Austin based operations to expand.
