Economic Development

Welcome to the Tucson Airport Authority’s economic development pages.

TAA’s economic development program is responsible for:

  1. Aggressively implementing land planning and development of undeveloped property at both TUS and RYN airports.
  2. Proactively pursuing retention and targeted recruitment of businesses to expand and attract jobs and capital investment to TUS and RYN.
  3. Professionally advocating the interests of the TAA before local, regional and statewide groups, government entities and the private sector to promote the use and maximize the value of TAA’s real estate holdings.

If your company is considering options for expansion, relocation or consolidation, TAA invites you to review our economic development information and contact us directly with any questions or data requirements  you may have. The TAA has excellent land and airside sites at both airports we are eager for  you to consider.

Tucson International Airport (TUS)

TUS is located eight miles south of the City of Tucson’s central business district and 4.34 miles from Interstate 10 via East Valencia Road, and 4.43 miles from Interstate 19, via West Valencia Road. TUS serves Tucson, Pima County and all of southern Arizona with commercial airline, military, cargo and general aviation services.

TUS has three runways; the longest is 11,000 feet and 150 feet wide. A second parallel runway is just over 8,400 feet long. The third runway is 7,000 feet long and is used for cross-wind conditions. TUS is a Port of Entry with 24-hour processing services of U.S. Customs and Border Protection. At more than 8,400 acres, TUS is the 10th largest commercial airport in the nation, by land area. TUS has existing facilities and development sites, including some that are shovel-ready and with or without airfield access, for business and industry to explore.
