Zuni Fetish Trunk Show at Tucson International Airport

      The work of Native American Zuni artists will be on display at the Paradies Desert House Shops at Tucson International Airport on February 8 and 15 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.

       Zuni fetishes, typically small carvings made from various materials, serve a ceremonial purpose for their creators and depict animals and icons integral to their culture. Kathryn Bennett, an anthropologist from the University of Arizona, has been working with Native American Indian Arts in Tucson for 17 years and will be available to discuss this popular and intriguing art form.

     This show is part of a series of events taking place this Spring at the Paradies Desert House Shops at Tucson International Airport.

     The exhibit on February 8 will be held on Concourse B and on February 15 on Concourse A.

     This event is free and open to the public. Interested parties may contact the Paradies Shops, 573-4755, for a personal escort to the shops, which are located past security.
